Mihret is 10 years old and in 4th grade at Repi Primary School in Kara Kore, Ethiopia. She loves playing soccer and wants to be a doctor when she grows up.
Mihret's father has alcohol abuse problems, so all of his wages are spent on his addiction. Her mother, Alem, works hard to take care of her 3 children and in manual labor odd jobs, to bring a small income home for her family. This work pays very little and she is not able to provide a daily meal for her family. If Mihret is sponsored for $35/month, she will receive daily meals and after school tutoring. If her family is sponsored for $15 additional a month, they will all receive monthly food rations and medical care, and her father and sister will receive priority to enroll in our Family Business Program, where they will be empowered to start their own small business.
