Amanuel is 8 years old and in Kindergarten and Hidase Primary School in Karakore, Ethiopia. He has 3 siblings, and his favorite subject in school is Math. He wants to be a doctor when he grows up.

 

Amanuel's mother wakes before dawn to raise her 4 children and work shifts at a plastics company. His father, Chuchu, was suddenly blinded as a work-related injury. He was fired from his job because he could not preform his duties as a blind man. This family is living in crisis as a result. If Amanuel is sponsored for $35/month, he will receive daily meals, after school tutoring, and basic medical care. If his family is sponsored for an additional $15 a month, they will all receive monthly food rations and medical care, and his parents will be given priority to enroll in our Family Business Program, where she will be empowered to start their own small business and earn an income.
