Etaferaw is 14 years old and in 8th grade at Repi School. She has 3 brothers.
 

Eta's mother, Bafena (left), was carrying clean drinking water to sell to neighbors to earn an income, but she became very ill and cannot work a manual labor job any longer. She sells bread now, but her income has been cut in half. Her husband, Kiflu, earns a small wage as a house painter, and her oldest son works occasionally as a bajaj (3-wheeled taxi) driver. But their combined income is not enough to feed this family of six. If Eta is sponsored for $35/month, she will receive daily meals and after school tutoring. If her family is sponsored for $15 additional a month, they will all receive monthly food rations and medical care, and her parents will receive priority to enroll in our Family Business Program, where they will be empowered to start their own small business.
